Despite being a significant part of Milwaukee's population, entrepreneurs from these communities frequently encounter barriers to entry in industries that demand advanced technical skills and resources. Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated existing economic disparities, underlining the need for targeted support to build capacity within these communities for sustainable business development.
The grant initiative aims to directly address these barriers by providing Black and Hispanic innovators in Milwaukee with growth capital, mentorship, and access to advanced facilities for developing green technologies.
