However, the dairy industry faces significant barriers, particularly in adopting new farming technologies. According to the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, more than half of the state's dairy farmers report challenges in utilizing modern farming techniques due to a lack of access to educational resources and training. Between urban and rural locations, disparities in technology adoption and learning opportunities exacerbate these challenges.
Many dairy farmers in rural Wisconsin struggle to keep up with advancements that enhance efficiency and productivity. Small-scale farmers, in particular, often operate on tight budgets, which limits their ability to invest in new technologies or to seek out training.
