Summary

Provides several grant programs open to nonprofit organizations and in some cases governmental bodies. The purpose is to improve community life by supporting meaningful projects in areas like education, health, environment, youth development, and social services.

One broad grant opportunity allows awards of up to $20,000, offered in two cycles per year. Another capacity‑building grant helps nonprofits strengthen their internal operations, with awards typically from $1,000 to $7,500. There is also a fund dedicated to programs that empower women and girls, with awards up to around $20,000. Special grants address crime prevention efforts (with smaller maximums, perhaps in the low thousands) and support for older adults to remain safely in their homes. A multi‑year “Stand Together” style grant offers funding over a three-year period (up to $225,000 total) for initiatives that help people move out of poverty—especially for projects addressing housing, workforce development, or basic needs.

Funds can be used for program support, equipment directly tied to project goals, board or staff training, technology improvements, planning, or certain operational enhancements. The foundation typically does not fund individuals, endowments, debt retirement, capital campaigns, or religious or political projects.

To qualify, an applicant must be a nonprofit with proper tax‑exempt status or a public body.  Applicants must act without discrimination and must serve the local community in a meaningful way. Some programs give priority to organizations led by underrepresented groups or those serving older adults.

Runs competitive grant cycles with set start and end dates. Decisions are made by review committees, and successful grantees are usually asked to submit a final report on outcomes at the end of the project term.
